Police Arrest Man Firing Gun Near OTB
Police swarmed the National Orange Show Sports Center Wednesday after a detective saw a man shooting a gun in the area, police said. Shortly before 11 a.m., a San Bernardino police homicide detective driving near E Street and Orange Show Road saw the man firing a gun like he was shooting at someone near the Sundowner restaurant, Sgt. Vicki Cervantes said.
New 5-Year Contract A Good First Step Towards Rebuilding the San Bernardino Police Dept.
The San Bernardino Police Officers Association and the City of San Bernardino reached agreement this week on the terms of a contract that will allow the City’s bankruptcy to move closer to finalization. On Monday, City Council unanimously approved the five-year contract which has the overwhelming support of San Bernardino’s rank-and-file police officers.
California Peace Officers Memorial
The 39th Annual California Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony at the State Capitol took place on May 2 in Sacramento. The names of 13 officers who were killed in the line of duty in 2014 were added in bronze to the memorial plaque, along with five other officers who were killed in the past in service of California.
