SBPOA Unanimously Endorses Adam Perez for State Assembly, Applauding His Dedication to Public Safety and Community Leadership

Oct 18, 2023

The San Bernardino Police Officers Association (SBPOA) is honored to endorse Adam Perez for the 50th District State Assembly seat. A combat veteran, dedicated police detective, and an unparalleled community leader, Perez embodies the principles of duty, service, and sacrifice. His outstanding record in public safety and unwavering commitment to community well-being make him the ideal candidate for this pivotal role.

With a commendable military background, Perez served the U.S. Army valiantly for five years, ascending to the rank of sergeant. His service to the nation seamlessly transitioned into his current role as a detective in Riverside County, where he’s been at the forefront of maintaining public safety and ensuring justice. His educational qualifications, including an associate’s degree in behavioral science, a bachelor’s in criminal justice, and a master’s in business administration, further emphasize his well-rounded capabilities and dedication to continued personal and professional growth.

Perez’s accomplishments have been exemplary during his tenure on the Fontana Unified School District Board. Elected twice, with a staggering 59% of the votes in his 2022 reelection, he has championed the safety and education of students, prioritizing public safety in schools and introducing essential programs, from Financial Literacy to STEM and CTE initiatives. His vision aligns perfectly with our collective mission of creating a safer environment for our youth and the broader community.

Endorsements from notable figures like City of Colton Councilmember John Echevarria, Rialto Mayor Pro Tem Andy Carrizales, and former San Bernardino County Supervisor Josie Gonzales further underscore Perez’s credibility and wide-reaching community support. His proactive approach to challenges, evidenced by his commitment to combating the alarming 26% rise in homelessness last year, showcases his dedication to addressing pressing community issues head-on.

Adam and his wife, Anahi, who serves the County of San Bernardino, reside in Fontana, a testament to their deep-rooted connection to their community. As Perez vies to fill the seat presently held by Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes, the SBPOA is confident in his vision and ability to usher in a safer and more prosperous era for San Bernardino and the broader 50th District.
